This monday 16th January The Magic of Minerals in Crystal Healing will be finished at the printers. It will then be couriered to me for distribution to you.
This book contains my research from the last (more than) 2 years. I have combined my education in natural medicine and gemmology to look at the nutritional properties of each mineral within a crystal and correlate it with the healing properties of the crystal. The results are quite exciting. I have done this research on the premise that we need minerals for our health and without them we become sick or die. We must have them in correct balance. We absorb through the skin, which is the largest organ of the body. My book explains simply what the minerals do for our health so that we can understand better which crystals may help us and why. I've been asked to offer some information on crystals and what they do, so here is some information on a gorgeous stone named sugilite.

Sugilite is a most beautiful and spiritual stone.

It is referred to as a major love stone representing spiritual love and wisdom.

It reminds you to be honest and true to yourself and follow your own path. It is protective to the soul and encourages the letting go of negativity within oneself. Amazonite properties

Amazonite is a potassium aluminium silicate (or feldspar).
It has a filtering action that enables it to block geopathic stress and electromagnetic pollution. Amazonite is a good stone to wear at the computer.
It is a soothing stone, calming the nervous system, alleviating worry & fear. It is said to assist osteoporosis and calcium deficiency & calcium deposits. It may relieve muscle spasms.

I've heard today that my book, The Magic of Minerals in Crystal Healing, is looking gorgeous and will be printed and available this friday or monday. How exciting to see my crystal and mineral research finally in book form available to all who are interested in crystals, healing, nutrition, minerals, natural health and beautiful crystal & gemstone jewellery. I'm absolutely thrilled to say that this book is to be sent to seven countries (and it is not as yet in print).
Those who have read some of my articles or just chatted are almost as excited as I am. The information contained in The Magic of Minerals in Crystal Healing is new. It is based on the nutrition of the minerals and the fact that we absorb through the skin which is the largest organ in the body. My book "The Magic of Minerals in Crystal Healing" is going through final agreements with a view of going to print today.
There has been considerable toing and froing between myself and my self publishing lady Julie, to bring you this book in its best format and presentation.

Amethyst healing properties

After starting my blog with a picture of an amethyst rose and then following up with chevron amethyst jewellery I thought I might give you a preview on amethyst and its nutritional and historic healing properties.
Amethyst is one of my very favourite crystals. I love its colour, forms and properties.
Amethyst has the chemical composition of silicon dioxide and is coloured by iron.
Amethyst is known for its healing properties particularly the sense of tranquility, balance, calm an protection. It releases tension and headaches, and encourages sleep for those suffering with insomnia.
Amethyst is said to assist with mental functioning and the transmission of impulses through the nervous system to the brain.
Amethyst strengthens the eliminatory organs, thereby enabling the body to cleanse the blood and body. It enhances the immune system, the respiratory tract, skin, cells, gastrointestinal tract and reduces bruising and swelling.
Amethyst helps retain hydration.

The minerals that make up amethyst and their nutritional properties account for the historical healing properties of amethyst.

Handmade gemstone jewellery

Following my love of amethyst I've created an amethyst handknotted necklace with a detachable pendant. The amethyst is all chevron amethyst, mmm lovely.
A description follows below with the pictures above.

This divine handknotted (in black silk) necklace measures 47cm in length, the width being 10mm. The pendant drop adds 4cm to the necklace.
It is hand knotted in black silk and wire worked in 14 karat gold fill.
This necklace was made so that the contemporary necklace may be worn on its own with the clasp at the back of the neck, or turned to the front with the pendant attached.
A unique purple amethyst necklace indeed.
I very much enjoyed making this necklace.

Amethyst was a favoured gemstone in the Art Deco period.
It is calming and balancing, alleviating stress and associated migraines.
Amethyst is said to be a cleansing stone, and works with the lungs, skin disorders, the gastro intestinal tract and endocrine system. It is physically, mentally and emotionally balancing. It is said to help injuries involving bruising and swelling.
