Crystal book website

I'm pleased to tell you all that I have finally put together a baby website for my book The Magic of Minerals in Crystal Healing. www.jeanettestein.webs.com I will be focusing more on that site for the book and will build it over time to include the other natural healing methods I practise. You currently find there a write up on the book, some of the crystal jewellery I make with healing in mind and another blog. The future will bring to that site healing using crystals, herbs, bach flowers, nutrition, lifestyle and essential oils. I also make some beautiful skin care, mostly totally natural, one or two items will contain inert substances as carriers for the range. I find nature is the best healer for our bodies and to put chemicals on our skin is not nurturing. We absorb these chemicals through our skin, so why not use a product that is actually good for us? I don't use anything but my own range of skin care.
A funny story, I went away a couple of months ago and forgot my skin care. I refused to buy chemical concoctions and used herbal teabags. Still nutritious and certainly not harmful. I did miss my skin care but this was a good interim measure.

Crystal & Natural Healing articles

Since I began researching the minerals and their contribution to the healing properties of the crystals, I have wanted to share my findings with anyone who would listen. My first article was written about 3 years ago. It was on lepidolite and it's healing properties, it is posted here www.soothingminds.co.uk/Articles.aspx?artid=263

Since this article I've learned much more. I continued writing and have published another article with the Gemmological Association of Australia in their journal with another coming out this month. Metal Stone & Glass may edition has another crystal healing article, and The Art of Healing's June edition has an article on understanding and managing depression with natural therapies, lifestyle and crystals. I'm currently waiting for my latest article to be published in the UK's Witches Digest.

I love to share my knowledge and understanding with those who are open to taking it in.

Mother Nature really does some exciting and amazing things for us, it is so important we look after her.

Moonstone & labradorite necklace

I've had this grey briolette moonstone and beautiful labradorite beads for some time now. I was looking forward to working with them but did not quite know what I would do with them. I'm very happy to have put them together, they look so beautiful. The labradorite beads are individually hand knotted and there is a gold accent bead either side of the moonstone. This is such a pretty piece and will soon have some fine earrings to match.

Moonstone is calming and balancing to the emotions & assists working through old wounds. It is a good meditation stone. It settles stress caused digestive problems and helps balance hormones, fluid, insomnia and aids liver and pancreas. It can also assist skin, eyes and hair.
Moonstone as a lunar stone is said to assist intuition. A lovely feminine stone.

I think the best way to use this book for your holistic health is to read through the mineral nutrition section at the back to understand which minerals you need more of to enhance your health. You then go to the crystal sections and choose which one suits you best both in what it offers your health and attraction.

Gem fest from a stall holders perspective

Lismore gemfestival is a magnificent festival and gets better each year.
This year I was lucky enough to be offered a stall to sell my book The Magic of Minerals in Crystal Healing. Along with this I offered some of my gemstone jewellery. I can honestly say I much prefer to wander and look searching for that special crystal/slab that I cannot do without. I was told it was a magnificent festival but could not really get out to see for myself.
I am not complaining at all. I have experienced my first ever stall. The feedback on my book was terrific. To hear people coming back and saying to their friends "Look, that is the book" was pretty amazing. Some people chose to use the book as a reference for what they would buy at various stalls. This is terrific, but at times I felt like they treated my stall as a library. Trusting the content of the book and leafing through it and moving on. Not buying it. I only hope that later on they remember the great info they got from the book and come back to buy it.
I know from being a customer at gemfest previously you have to try to get the best for your money and have to get around to see it all. I must say that I felt my book was used and some people were rude. This was a minority though, and the whole experience was a great learning curve. I was surprised that people did not know that I was the author of a book of new research until I told them. Advertising is a must next time.
I met many lovely people and made lots of contacts. I have to say I'm glad I was there as a stall holder, and will make sure I get a good break to go and see the various stalls next year.

Lismore Gem Festival

Hello to you all. I hope all the mothers out there enjoyed mothers day.

This coming saturday and sunday is Lismore's Gem Festival. It is well known around the country as one of the best for its variety, friendliness and prices.
This year I've been offered a stall to sell my book The Magic of Minerals in Crystal Healing from. How wonderful. What better place to sell my book than a gem festival full of people interested in gems and crystals.

Book Launch

Well my trip to Tenterfield was just lovely. The book launch was well received with word of mouth travelling all too well. The samples of my crystal jewellery were a good way to let people handle/feel the crystals I was talking about. Demand for books is increasing I'm pleased to say.

I'm very grateful to Julie from Dragonfly Healing Centre for organizing the day and treating me to a wonderful sauna the next day (it was freezing outside so very welcome indeed).

The libraries I've contacted have been very keen to purchase the book, needless to say, I'm happy the word is spreading.
When I get my act together I will send an introductory letter to some of the retail outlets and find a distributor.
Life gets busy, but boy it is good!

Tenterfield book launch

Saturday 26th April I will be attending another book launch for The Magic of Minerals in Crystal Healing. This time it will be held at Tenterfield's healing centre "Dragonfly". I look forward to this launch being put together by the lovely Julie, owner of the business and all round wonderful lady.
I've been playing with powerpoint trying to put together a presentation for the day, but cannot manage to insert the photographs in a small enough size. If you have any ideas that may help, I would welcome them. Otherwise, I will tell you all about how my research and there fore my book came to be. The journey I travelled (and am still on) and talk about some of the crystals, their healing properties and explain how the minerals account for their healing. I will take along some pieces of crystal jewellery as examples of the crystals to hand around for all to see and feel.
Ofcourse these pieces are available to purchase on the day.

The Magic of MInerals in Crystal Healing - sugilite

This monday 16th January The Magic of Minerals in Crystal Healing will be finished at the printers. It will then be couriered to me for distribution to you.
This book contains my research from the last (more than) 2 years. I have combined my education in natural medicine and gemmology to look at the nutritional properties of each mineral within a crystal and correlate it with the healing properties of the crystal. The results are quite exciting. I have done this research on the premise that we need minerals for our health and without them we become sick or die. We must have them in correct balance. I've been asked to offer some information on crystals and what they do, so here is some information on a gorgeous stone named sugilite.

Sugilite is a most beautiful and spiritual stone.

Amazonite properties

Amazonite is a potassium aluminium silicate (or feldspar).
It has a filtering action that enables it to block geopathic stress and electromagnetic pollution. Amazonite is a good stone to wear at the computer.
It is a soothing stone, calming the nervous system, alleviating worry & fear. It is said to assist osteoporosis and calcium deficiency & calcium deposits. It may relieve muscle spasms.

I've heard today that my book, The Magic of Minerals in Crystal Healing, is looking gorgeous and will be printed and available this friday or monday. How exciting to see my crystal and mineral research finally in book form available to all who are interested in crystals, healing, nutrition, minerals, natural health and beautiful crystal & gemstone jewellery. I'm absolutely thrilled to say that this book is to be sent to seven countries (and it is not as yet in print).
Those who have read some of my articles or just chatted are almost as excited as I am. The information contained in The Magic of Minerals in Crystal Healing is new. It is based on the nutrition of the minerals and the fact that we absorb through the skin which is the largest organ in the body. The Magic of Minerals in Crystal Healing print

My book "The Magic of Minerals in Crystal Healing" is going through final agreements with a view of going to print today.
There has been considerable toing and froing between myself and my self publishing lady Julie, to bring you this book in its best format and presentation.

Amethyst healing properties

After starting my blog with a picture of an amethyst rose and then following up with chevron amethyst jewellery I thought I might give you a preview on amethyst and its nutritional and historic healing properties.
Amethyst is one of my very favourite crystals. I love its colour, forms and properties.
Amethyst has the chemical composition of silicon dioxide and is coloured by iron.
Amethyst is known for its healing properties particularly the sense of tranquility, balance, calm an protection. It releases tension and headaches, and encourages sleep for those suffering with insomnia.
Amethyst is said to assist with mental functioning and the transmission of impulses through the nervous system to the brain.
Amethyst strengthens the eliminatory organs, thereby enabling the body to cleanse the blood and body. It enhances the immune system, the respiratory tract, skin, cells, gastrointestinal tract and reduces bruising and swelling.
Amethyst helps retain hydration.

The minerals that make up amethyst and their nutritional properties account for the historical healing properties of amethyst.

Handmade gemstone jewellery

Following my love of amethyst I've created an amethyst handknotted necklace with a detachable pendant. The amethyst is all chevron amethyst, mmm lovely.
A description follows below with the pictures above.

This divine handknotted (in black silk) necklace measures 47cm in length, the width being 10mm. The pendant drop adds 4cm to the necklace.
It is hand knotted in black silk and wire worked in 14 karat gold fill.
This necklace was made so that the contemporary necklace may be worn on its own with the clasp at the back of the neck, or turned to the front with the pendant attached.
A unique purple amethyst necklace indeed.
I very much enjoyed making this necklace.

Amethyst has the chemical composition of silicon dioxide which may be coloured by iron.

Amethyst was a favoured gemstone in the Art Deco period.
It is calming and balancing, alleviating stress and associated migraines.
Amethyst is said to be a cleansing stone, and works with the lungs, skin disorders, the gastro intestinal tract and endocrine system. It is physically, mentally and emotionally balancing. It is said to help injuries involving bruising and swelling.
